BCSTA’s advocacy efforts to include K-12 staff on the COVID-19 vaccination priority list have been successful! We’re proud to have worked closely with Minister Whiteside to bring this critical layer of protection to the education sector.
[Sent July 31, 2020] A joint letter from BCSTA, BCCPAC, BCASBO, BCPVPA and BCSSA: “On Wednesday, July 29 B.C.’s Minister of Education Rob Fleming and Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced the comprehensive plan for the reopening all of our province’s schools this September.”
In follow-up to the June 15, 2020 presentation by BC School Trustees Association President Stephanie Higginson, BCSTA provided the Select Standing Committee on Finance and Government Services with some additional information and comments.

Under the direction of the Provincial Health Officer, the Minister of Education has suspended in-class instruction in all schools until further notice.
