Student Resources

Board/Authority Authorized (BAA) Course Database

BCSTA maintains a searchable database of Board/Authority Authorized (BAA) courses. Board/Authority Authorized Courses are courses offered by Boards of Education or Independent School Authorities to meet local needs and student interests. They are authorized by boards/authorities according to requirements set by the Ministry of Education.

Student Scholarships grow to five for 2010

BCSTA awards $500 awards every year to graduating BC public school students who have displayed exemplary citizenship within their school and community. Traditionally the Student Citizenship Award Committee, consisting of three trustees, selects four winners. For 2010, BCSTA will add a fifth Student Citizenship Award, in honour of the late Jean Ciriani, a former communications director for the Association. Therefore, next spring, the Committee will select five winners.

We gratefully welcome donations to the special Jean Ciriani Student Citizenship Award. To donate, please send a cheque to:

  • BC Educational Support Foundation, c/o BC School Trustees Association, 4-1580 W. Broadway, Vancouver, BC V6J 5K9.

Please let us know if you do NOT want to be acknowledged on this site for making a donation.

For questions about donating, or about the Awards in general, please contact award coordinator Melanie Jackson.

2010 Student Scholarships
