Careers with BCSTA
Communications Specialist
Every student in BC is counting on the people who shape public education to get the story right. That’s where you come in.
The BC School Trustees Association is the unified voice of all 60 boards of education in this province, in the room when government decides on K-12, when media needs a credible source, when 60 boards need to speak as one.
This isn’t churning out press releases. You’ll sit at the intersection of communications and government relations: drafting key messages on emerging issues, building advocacy materials for meetings with provincial ministers, scripting major events, and contributing to our weekly newsletter and digital channels.
You’re an exceptional writer who can work on a tight deadline. You bring five years of experience in media relations or communications, comfort in a politicized environment, and a knack for finding smarter ways to do things. K-12 experience is a bonus, not a must.
