This national gathering includes:

  • Honouring the lands of the host nations, the Lil̓wat7úl (Lil’wat) Nation and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation and including perspectives and knowledge from First Nations and Métis people from across British Columbia.

A commitment to supporting boards of education in their governance work, which includes sessions on:

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Student Success
  • Leadership
  • Emerging issues such as Artificial Intelligence & Climate Change

The CSBA gathering brings together Elders, educators, and thought leaders from across Canada for a powerful national learning event grounded in collaboration, reconciliation, and shared responsibility. This year’s conference creates a space for participants to walk together—honouring Indigenous knowledge systems and governance traditions—while moving forward with integrity, vision, and a commitment to public education. Through keynote presentations, land-based learning, Indigenous-led sessions, purposeful networking and dialogue on emerging issues, we will explore how strong, inclusive governance can transform systems, deepen relationships, and create equitable opportunities for every learner.
