Update on Partner Liaison Meeting and Board Chair Day

Recent discussions between BCSTA and the Ministry of Education and Child Care have resulted in changes to two longstanding events: the Partner Liaison Meeting (PLM) and Board Chair Day.

Provincial Budget Context

The provincial government has directed ministries to streamline operations and improve efficiency in response to budget constraints. The Ministry of Education and Child Care is balancing support for boards of education while scaling back certain events.

Event Status Changes

The Partner Liaison Meeting has been postponed for this year.

Board Chair Day, traditionally held alongside PLM, will be restructured.

BCSTA AGM 2026 Format

Special pre-conference sessions for Board Chairs will be introduced at BCSTA AGM 2026 to address professional development and networking needs previously met by Board Chair Day.

Details regarding these sessions will be communicated to Board Chairs as they are finalized.

Trustees have access to direct engagement with the Minister of Education and Child Care through:

• Ministerial participation at BCSTA events
